This is a difficult one to answer , on most cars the original panels fit better , on a mini the original panels were allways a poor fit , some copy panels fit as well as the original ones and have been salt spray tested to out perform the original panels , some cheaper non-gen panels just look something like the original and dont fit at all well (dont fit at all !)
A good quality insurance approved panel SHOULD fit as well as a genuine panel and be a bit cheaper for you , avoid the cheapy panels if you intend keeping the mini more than say 12 months , after i have been to work i will put up some prices for you .
