I couldn't say lol I haven't tried yet but it will be v close! There was the only place I could mount it, no room for a top mount and I don't like the look of it! This is a smaller alternator thañ the micra one by the way it's of a daihatsu charade or something like that

When it's tensioned it will be more than enough there's pretty much no other way to do it as far as I can see but if not then I'm sure I can route the belt another way. No big deal :-)

That's looking great bud. Nice work. Same alternator that I went for when I changed mine. You may have to spacer your grill out tho!

It's got plenty of power that alternator but if I were you I would make a cover for it as mine gets a bit fussy when it gets accidentally soaked by rain

I'll keep that in mind. I ground a small bit off the block to move it in a little closer but will have to wait to check the clearance when it's put.back in the car for its road test I'm sure it will be ok. Not too worried about having to space the grill. Need to do the top bracket and male a bolt so I can move the tensioner easier. After that it's on to the clutch cable and finish the wiring. Get the brake lines in place which should be fairly simple as I have the copper pipe here to make some lines. Once that's done she can be tested for the first time!

Nothing super interesting happened with it today... got the top mount for the alternator done and tensioned the belt thick is working great so far. Picked up some bolts I needed and that was about it. Subframe needs to go back in the car tomorrow to sort the clutch cable and brake lines!

Today we made some bushes for the bottom arms so we can use some longer bolts that aren't imperial and it fits and works great also did the brakes so that's pretty much sorted all new lines routed just need to get some securing clips and what not to make them legal. Next job clutch.

Just a quick thought, you might struggle to get a speedo cable on with the crossbar that low.

we have thought that but with the angle the gearbox is a small hole in the floor where the drive witch will allow us to run it inside the car with minimal issues really. Or that's how we hope it goes lol
