The parts have started arriving thick and fast.

I've been careful to select only recommended people for parts, and with a few phone calls, most people have accommodated my custom requests.

First of all is the interior, these door card set and dash liner have been made for me as a set by the headline shop. A few ebay message and they were very happy to help.

The quality of the workmanship on these is superb, last time I paid £30 for a set of door cards they were ok, but would have stood up to many removals before clip holes started to wear out.. These cost a fair bit more than that, but you get what you pay for.

These are superb. Brilliantly packed for delivery too. Cant wait to get them in when my blue weave carbon binnacle arrives from America.

I think i've uploaded the photo?

My carbon binnacle has now arrived, and I will be attempting an install this weekend if I get a chance.

Other mods:

6 x 12 deep dish Mamba wheels, cut slicks

Adjustable tie rods (set to standard length, bought due to impressive cheapness and thicker gauge, originals were bent)

New KYB gas-a-justs all round (originals were completely shot)

Bullet shaped Marine tachometer which came from the USA and looks BAD@SS!! (fitted to tacho plug which was installed, but not used on later minis with two clock set up)

I did have an OMP steering wheel to fit, but it looks stupid, so that's up for sale.

Pipercross foam air filter (simplest mod so far)

De-cat pipe (not fitted at the moment)

Matching gear stick and hand brake gaitors, black leather, blue stitching

I will not be cutting any corners on this job, and will be up loading photos as I progress.

After all this the next items are:

Front and rear seats. (classic buckets)

Fast road engine build at Southam (SMMC)

Roof Painted black

Arches to cover the new wheels and look good, thinking GP2s from somerford.

Report the thread to the mods.

Thanks! They have made me a good one in the past, no doubt they'll do the same again.

Carbon dash has proved a fiddley beggar to fit, im having to cut out the centre clock supports from the plastic surround and glue them inside the carbon one, as it has no supports, apart from that its coming along.

New Bullet shaped tacho is in, but under reading, so I need to tweak that, if no joy it must be a calibration issue, and then i'll bin it and buy another!

Wheel arch mod is done, not the best, but ill get a body shop to tidy it up and fit the arches when they paint the roof.

Engine and anything costing lots of cash is having to wait until march april now due to me deciding buying a house.

More photos to come

And a better photo of the tacho, which I found on eBay in the USA from an old boat and thought would look cool, and does!

Cheers cityspeed! Its not easy getting the look right sometimes!

Here she is after a polish, with the arches trimmed and in position. Im refraining from GPs at the moment until I get the front wings sprayed and roof done.

Thanks!

An update:

I now have the old girl in Leeds and am setting to work on curing the car of its woeful handling.

It doesnt pull left or right, its just very heavy steering. The issue was reduced when putting new dampers on but it is still an issue and completely takes away from the driving experience.

I need a mini specialist in leeds who can adjust my track rod ends AND tie bars together to set castor angle and toe etc.

Hopefully that will sort the issue. I have taken the steering column apart and found no particular issue with the splines at the bottom.
