Well at least it has a Mk2 'commission plate' on the slam panel, some had them fitted there while some had them fitted vertically on the off side inner wing near the brake servo.
Is there a date stamped into the wiper motor cover and on the flat part of the bootlock mechanism...? If so it will be two seperate numbers, for example '48 67' which would indicate it was built in the 48th week of 1967.

I once saw a mini wth v5 and chassis plates and correct number plates BUT it was a Nash Metropolitan.
correct V5 but wrong car body shell.

The v5 states that this is a Mini Cooper S,surely that can't be changed and proves it is what it is?
When it comes down to it, the V5, reg' number and chassis number apply to 'a Cooper S', but the car they're actually attached to isn't neccesarily the original car... hope that makes sense! I'm not saying this particular car is a 'log book recreation' but the possibility is always there.
As it stands, I think the car in those photos is a very nice '60s Mini which appears to be a Mk2 Cooper S with Mk1 parts and badges.

Not even a mk2 cooper, it has the very large heater intake pipe and those were gone long before that time.

Caveat emptor.
If you want an original Cooper S I think you will need to keep looking.
