Awesome job Ben. Looks like you have single handedly re-created the car, not dissimilar to one of the £100k+ David Brown 'Remastered' Mini's.

Bill Richards has just popped by with a 1293 he has just built complete with a mini for me to put it into.

That engine looks great, plus Mill Road and Bill Richards working together sounds like a dream team.

Bill and I have been discussing this and we plan to collaborate.

He does not have the workshop space to remove and refit an engine so each time he gets a car in for an engine build, I will be doing the removal and refitting and he will work his magic on the engine.

 

It feel a like quite the honour to work with such a veteran in the mini world and I'm looking forward to what's coming.

That's great news, I definitley benefitted from the collaboration. Unfortunately I haven't been able to drive my Mini at the moment due to a bad back, but the engine has been running great.

Bill's looks okay, think mine looks better

Please forgive the old rad, a reconditioned original has now been fitted.  Also ignore the gauges, they're there to measure oil pressure and engine temp when I've fired it up out of the car!!
