Mostly re-assembled now. I am just waiting on a new windscreen as I managed to crack the one previously fitted when re-fitting it.
The new rubber was just too tight and CRRAACCK.
This is the first one I have ever broken and I have done more than I can count.
Never mind, Ill sort it.
Once the screen is in, I just need to flat and polish the roof.
Sorry for the cramped photos, I am a little tight on space at the moment!
Cheers
Ben

well the replacement screen turned up but unfortunately the supplier didn't see fit to actually use some suitable packaging and it was smashed to bits
They will not take any responsibility despite the shoddy packing so ill hesitate to use them again..
Anyway, National windscreens to the rescue, they have one coming over on the 6am hovercraft tomorrow and they will be with me at 8:30 and are even going to fit it as part of the price.
can't grumble at that service.
More tomorrow

It just annoyed me because I have never broken a screen yet and hopefully won't again. At least not for a while.

This delightful honest Riley Elf was dropped into me this week for some jobs to be done.
The owner has provided some replacement panels for it, namely a bonnet and a bootlid.
The existing ones are lovely and patinated like the rest of the car but are just too rotten to be worth repairing.
The replacement panels had been sandblasted so were clean and rust free however, had many imperfections and shallow dips so I gave them a skim where needed to even things out
I'm also going to be repainting the roof as it's in quite a scruffy state
And we are going for a roof ariel delete
More to come as I progress with it
Cheers

I have now high build primed the bonnet and bootlid and flatted them both down
And they are both ready to paint
And I have also prepped the roof.
The main issue was the chunky filler type material on the gutters themselves which needed to come out as it had crazed and cracked
And there were a couple of dents to sort too
And then after deleting the ariel hole, I finished the prep
Before high build primer
All ready to flat and paint next week.

metalwork around the gutter seems to be in remarkably good shape considering its age. looks like it's been well cared for

I haven't had a chance to get a good look round the car but the owner claims that it has never had any welding and I can believe that.
To me, it's just right. Unrestored, original but patinated.
Lovely.

Many thanks Ben, it looks so much better without that roof aerial already! There's a rubber blanking plug in the NSR wing which I presume is an old aerial hole and is where I would fit one if I ever refit a radio.
And thanks for taking the time to upload the pictures it's really good to see your progress.

Primer flatted and top coat applied
I cant paint the blue until Wednesday as the paint suppler forgot to bring their scanner today when delivering so we can match the paint.
One of those things.
Cheers
