It is a 76 yes.
It has been resprayed twice in the past.
It was originally this colour
Which I absolutely love.
Then it was resprayed in a colour very similar to this
Which I think would have been absolutely shocking on this
And then finally the grey which is reasonably recent. However, it has a lot of filler in it, you can see the deep sanding scratches underneath the grey paint.
What it needs really is a full stripdown and rebuild. Then it would be lovely.
Cheers

Hi all.
Lots of changes at Mill Road going on at the moment so things have been up in the air what with new staff, a new class VII mot bay and some changes to the site.
We are getting there now and it is also looking likely that I will be extending my workshop and taking on an apprentice. The person in mind has already completed 2 years of vehicle body repair training so we are keen to see what he can do.
If not, then i will definitely be looking to take someone on either qualified or as a trainee so exciting times ahead.
As well as the Mini pickup I have been restoring, I have also started on some extra work on the White Mini 40 from last year, some paint work on a Morris Minor and also the Blaze 1275GT is back for some more work too.
There will be more to come throughout the year as well.
The Mini 40 is in for some rust work. Namely the front scuttle area and the O/S inner sill. It's also starting to bubble around the roof gutters so that will be getting attention too.
Front stripped out ready for the scuttle repairs
And here is the areas of concern on the inner sill
But of course it's a Mini so small spot repairs soon turned out not to be an option as planned
It's now turned into a new scuttle, dash rail and bulkhead repairs
Remember those small areas on the sill?
Well...
Bugger..
Have some photos of a Morris Minor ready for paint
I painted it Friday last thing so ill pop up some finished photos once it's back together
cheers
Ben

Pleased you did not turn my mini into a Moggy when it was in.
Good to hear Mill Road is expanding. I'd love to be your apprentice but I think I'd be sacked in less than a day!!

replacing the scuttle with the wings in place is a neat trick - didn't know that was even possible !

It's the first one I have done like this.
It was fairly straightforward. The worst part was removing the welded on remains of the scuttle from the scuttle closers with the wings in the way but once it's all chopped out, the new scuttle just slides straight in with no fuss.
I still need to weld the closers back to the scuttle from up under the wings and ill do that now it's up on axle stands.

That's a lot of A series powered cars there. Be careful not to slip on all that leaked oil!!

All depends what time of day you travel, ours was the 08.45 sailing, with some military discount thrown in as well.

Was that Lymington - Yarmouth Dan? If so, that's pretty good for Wightlink!
