They certainly look similar, but without putting them side by side it is difficult to be sure.

Foster Charlton from the MCR would know.

I might have the original colour chart somewhere

Anyhow you can find it browsing some italian site like 'miniminor'

I'd advise against connecting the header tank, just use a normal rad cap and keep the tank as an 'original look' thingy, maybe use a hidden expansion tank like those fitted to spi minis

Thanks Jaydee, I have now started stripping the car and the original colour seems to be a peach or light caramel colour? I haven't seen anything similar before.. If you could find that colour chart id be grateful.

Thats great. Im finding getting information on the Innocenti Export a little difficult so any original documents certainly help. Might have to take a crash course in Italian though!

See if this can help

Obviosly theres no code for them, the paint actually has a name only, that shows on a tag put on the fuel tank.

I have a pair of genuine Inno door bins which I don't need. PM me if they will help.

The front door bins are vulnerable to damage and are hard to find. There are no door pulls for closing the doors and people pull on the plastic bins which breaks them.

The radiator, rad header tank, rear lights, boot lids and steering wheels can be hard to find, but there are some around - at a price.

The genuine 'export' badges on the front A-panels are very hard to find, although you can buy transfers and make your own badges which look vary close to correct.

The correct 4.5" wheels are around, but again expensive as are the badges for the boot lid and the rear number plate holder.

I managed to find all the parts to restore mine and Newton Commercial can supply a complete interior including a full set of seat covers.

Here is mine when I had just completed the restoration:

Cooperman,  Did you keep the original carello headlights or did you change them to RHD?  If so how did you get the innocenti headlight rims to fit?  Also do you know what colour the wheels are?  Grey?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick, I fitted new Wipac halogen lights. The original lights all dip the wrong way as all Innos were LHD. They are a direct replacement and the rims still fit.
I was given some wheel paint when I bought the car. Foster Charlton of the MCR could give you the paint code.

You managed to fit the innocenti headlight rims on the wipac lights?  I have looked but cant seem to work out how to do it. The only way is to have a thin lug attached to the headlamp bowl on on the top which the headlight rim can hook over and then screw the bottom of the headlight rim to hold.

It was a  few years ago, but I don't recall any problems. I did use standard back-plates and mountings, so maybe the Innocenti ones for the Carellos were different and mine had been changed earlier before I got the car. Sorry I can't be more specific.

A firm in Spain is making new Inno dashboards and grilles minus the Mini Cooper1300 badge appear on ebay.it every now and then as do those indicator repeaters.

Has anyone got a badge for the front grille ?

As said if you join the MCR their monthly magazine 'Cooperworld' has lots of detailed information on the Innocenti Export Mini's and useful contacts in every issue written by Foster Charlton.....he is also in the process of writing a definitive book on them, although a recent computer crash with no recent backup has sadly set his book project back.
