Hopefully though there is enough flex in the rubber mountings.
I haven't painted raptor inside front panel near mounts to ensure front subframe goes in easily.
Still have a way to go but feels better now one area is complete

I would be interested to see how well the Raptor holds up.
I think it would be something i would consider using at work. I didn't realise it was tintable.

It came recommended to me from people who have moved from gravytex.

I then spent a few hours tidying up, vacuuming and getting ready to build my booth for topcoat, although I also trial fitted the bonnet again to check the fit, am happy with it so can now get some colour on it,

Been a long road to get this far so hopefully won't ruin it now.

I have built a framework which will be covered with body shop plastic sheet, I also have 2 filters, one for intake and one for exhaust,
I have put2 coats of pva on the floor and on the one exposed wall to help prevent dust so will start sheeting the frame in the week, hopefully going this way I will avoid the mistakes I made on my mk1 and get far less dust in the paint and hopefully less rework and flatting,
I have also bought some more lighting to help so hopefully be ready to paint very soon.

Don't know if if you have tried it, but if you ground the body before you start
panel wiping and tak-raging, and keep it grounded during paint operations it
helps to stop dust being attracted to the paint finish.
I have painted a fair few cars over the years (50 odd ) in all sorts of conditions
and places and found this helps when not in a proper Booth/oven.
Best of luck,

Then I masked off the car, painted inside boot, although difficult to get a good picture

Then painted under bonnet area

Also gave inside of bootlid a couple of coats

Also painted a few brackets and bonnet hinges,
still got a few bits of dust but nothing like when in an open garage, well pleased with the effort it took to construct.
Need to get some time to finish it off now

I have painted inside the doors as well now, got two small runs but they should flat out, I need to practice a little more as it's a fine line between full wet coat and a run.

Also painted a few more bits

Will paint outside of doors, bonnet and bootlid before I start on outside of car, very pleased with the lack of dust though, was well worth the effort to set up the area. I have won a large extractor on eBay so should have that before end of week

I did a trial run on the bonnet and boot after finalising my booth and extraction, got a few bits of dust but far better than previous attempts.
I also invested in the farecla ops flexible cups and even though it was a little expensive due to quantities you have to buy, it was worth it for the ease of cleaning up and no chance of leaks when painting hopefully. Also it took very little thinners to clean the gun,

Will leave any flatting and polishing for a while as it's a skill I haven't quite mastered yet. Think I need to paint and old panel and practice on it.
Hopefully paint roof in snowberry white next week. Which is one reason I bought the cups as I have spilt paint on the roof before and had to flat and repaint.
