Only managed a little this weekend as weather meant I did other things.
Welded up redundant holes on scuttle
Then spent a little time making small sections of gutter to convert new panel to old spec on the front corners, just need to slit the gutter now and press down to form the drain points,
Need a few burrs for my dremel to finish off but overall not turned out to bad

Ah ok think it's just I'm not fully up to scratch with the differences in mk1 and mk2 shells compared to the later ones
I got confused by it once, but here's a pic of an original mk2
I'm tempted to do it to my MPi as the wiper coverage is slightly better

Started to form the drain points not turned out too bad but need a little tidying, must say though it's very awkward would be far better with a nos early panel, but had to work with what I could get
Nice one, did you make a former ?

Did first side by chopping out a square section,
Although it worked ok I had more distortion than I would like, needed a lot of reshaping and although not finished the shape is there now just needs a little smoothing and filling
Did second side by cutting out a circular section using a grinding disc as template,
Came out much better so a lesson learned for future
The indicator looks much better on correct diameter plinth
Than after clamping and screwing the front end together for alignment I removed the wings and front panel and spot welded together as access much easier.
Front end now refitted and clamped in position, needs a few adjustments but almost ready for welding
The wings and scuttle are heritage but front panel is pattern part modified to correct spec by m machine.

Great work as always, just a shame M-Machine didn't get the indicator plinths correct when they modified the panel. Keep the updates coming real inspiration.
