Thanks, I managed to get a little more done today still avoiding grinding at the moment

Got all the cut off panels together and got them collected out the way

7c0e2be59113ad716ea8dd14f6f8ea39.jpg

Then decided to clean up the bulkhead and get rid of unnecessary holes

a54b07043a72232b07b192b79c12a866.jpg

Welded them up and started to repair bulkhead rotodip hole

f379108d635597ecc876db37356f0c98.jpg

Then welded this up and got flat ready for grinding

15c244f3a5bdd56b94eaee1a8edc113d.jpg

Needs a little repair at top of bulkhead drivers side but not to bad

b6aeed3e2087a1b15b06fe8381e2e6c3.jpg

Then removed deox gel from cross member and cleaned up, then added some zinc primer

c91d8c59bc815305f7b976d854c25f80.jpg

It just needs a repair to lower lip which I will do when the rest of inner wing removed

Then a picture of bulkhead without all the holes, looks much better

Thanks, am taking advantage of bad weather as nobody wants to go out, so best place for me is in garage.

Managed to squeeze another hour in tonight after work, so linished the bulkhead welds, needs a little hammer and dolly work and filling but hopefully will turn out acceptable,

I am pleased with how the rotodip hole has turned out as it had been hammered back quite a bit, quoting the second owner it was done to fit long trumpets, seems a little odd though as would think they would have caught top of hole not bottom

Had a few more hours to spare today so cleaned up bulkhead and applied some deox gel where needed.

71d096340fff045bb72e1b22a63ab2a2.jpg

Then fitted some loom tabs repaired corner and replaced flange on side of bulkhead and gave it a coat of zinc primer

b48727c5c6634a274ace037f4149baa2.jpg

Also fitted the rh crossmember bracket

db3d04b59d911b8cb633146b2b9d369e.jpg

Then I modified rh inner wing to early spec

a3fa703e9ab9568b8137f1121b50f91e.jpg

Trial fitted the inner wing and it appears it will fit without major modification on this side, however I still have a couple of lower bulkhead repairs to do before I fit it properly,

Hopefully once the inner wing is in position I can remove the subframe and clean up the lower bulkhead and toe board

Done a bit more today

Cut out bad area of bulkhead and cleaned inside cross member derusted and painted, still have a small repair at bottom corner but need to remove the subframe to do this properly and I really need more metal on the door post area before I can support from under floor and remove subframe, so to be done at a later date

63c4c301f9bae1430f0c43f50e28bd1f.jpg

Fitted a patch plug welded and seam welded in position, still need to grind the welds a bit more but ran out of belts for my sander

efbdabe9fe776864b27b9127a05853d9.jpg

Then repaired end of shelf,

db88e9716f20cb6dbb057d2d8321d94c.jpg

Then fitted strengthener to end of cross member

241b0609a37e0ecbe4d2c59e5fff949f.jpg

Then trial fitted inner wing, needs a few adjustments but should fit better than the other side

810c00a9e676ac5af7328bd36deaffbe.jpg

Need to get this fitted now and then remove frame from inside of the car, which will be a good step forward.

I enjoyed removing the bracing from the inside of the car as it meant I could move around it freely and also sit in it. Coming together quickly now

Nice tidy job with the repair on the dash rail think we will be needing to do the same to our pickup build...

Whats next start lining the front end up?

Thanks will probably leave front end for now and repair and reskin the doors, was hoping to not have to change the skins but on reflection it's easiest way to be able to properly derust and repair the frames.
I also have rear valance to fit but at least I am past the worst of repairs now.

Thanks, the doors need replacement bottoms as the frame is quite bad, but other than that and skins will be fine. I got some more belts for my sander yesterday as well so ground down a few welds to test them as they were grit 40 but they do get the weld down pretty quick,

Will post some pics of the doors when I start them as have panels coming from m machine tomorrow

That belt sander made short work of that, hope the panels come ok and you manage to crack on with the doors

Here is a picof the passenger door bottom, looks better on pics than it actually is, the corners are gone quite bad so bought the m machine bottoms to repair the door frames

63d59722a804746f0e156ca65c017e14.jpg

2eb50da4264275cf0fb65dba3f689433.jpg

22f6a0d89f9027174f7c838b4c510198.jpg

Then I reverted back to the inner wing and marked the holes for plug welding and clamped in position

4be3d5aa7c39f47c0dd0367070e72918.jpg

Then welded in and ground down the welds

58c39c96da8b9be2ddf7b7eb3368d324.jpg

9955daabec34cb7f4f9bb48872b29afd.jpg

Then decided to have a tidy up and trial fit the front panel to check everything lines up ok with the bonnet, nothing to bad discovered, just need to reshape front of drivers side inner wing to get front panel level with the bonnet.

9c6384a9fb796924c06544484dff9875.jpg

95c7d28fec99a10477a81b6c40c627bf.jpg

6d77c8b4acb1ea23831ca591601ba3de.jpg

Think will fit drivers side inner a panel and finish the a post off, get the frame out then try to finish the floor and bulkhead welding off next week, if I get enough time.
The m machine front panel seems ok I just have the smaller indicator plinths to fit but probably do them once panel on car as may be easier.
