Thanks,
I am finding the full panel replacement approach much easier than repair panels especially now the full floor is in position. Part I am not looking forward to is the roof repair, may need to find a section from another shell or fabricate something suitable. I am still undecided on that.

I hear you on the roof repairs. I acquired a free roof a while ago with no intention of putting it on my resto. When I got round to cleaning the gutters on my resto up there was around 25% of unrotten gutter remaining on the shell. So I decided to cut the whole roof off and found fibreglass repairs and all sorts. Glad I took it off now. Now sourcing a donor with good gutters I can use to repair before I put the new second hand skin on.

Thanks, I am now starting to enjoy it as each time I do something it looks better, unlike when I was chopping it up. I haven't forgot about you, will give you a ring to sort something. Just been a little tied recently.

I did a little work tonight, managed to change liner on my mig as wire feed was a little troublesome, made a hell of a difference and I have started prepping the brackets and wheel tub for fitting, they are pretty close though and only needed a few of the mounting flanges tweaking a little, am very pleased with the standard of m machine and heritage panels, although the magnum rear quarters I have bought are also a very good fit and won't need much alteration. Amazing the difference when you start with a straight floor. It's like a big jigsaw puzzle now.

What spot welder are you using? I am looking at the two models in machine mart (CSW6T & CSW13T) not sure if the 6T is big enough

Thanks

Paul

I am using the csw6t mainly bacause it was cheaper and runs off 16amps, haven't had any issues with it other than the learning curve to use it. The longer arms needs less tension than the short ones. Anything thicker than it will weld I will plug weld.

Have to clean up the welds but ran out of time today.

Hopefully get quarter fitted next week then start again on other side,
I am now convinced more than ever I have taken the right decision with this car as everything fits so easy, although I don't like to speak to soon.

Thanks, not decided on quarter fitment yet, have seen a couple of methods so need to make my mind up. I may get other side to same level as this before I fit them.

Thanks, even though the panel is only a magnum one it fits fine and well worth the £70 saving over the heritage one, I know people have had issues with front edge but as that's cut off anyway for mk2 then they are fine. Not as thick as original removed but then don't think the heritage one would be either. I am really looking forward to getting the rear finished now, but then have another spend to do the front. I love fitting the panels just don't like paying for them.
