Alarm/ Immobiliser 1995 Spi Sidewalk

I'm fairly new to spi and the rover alarm system. I have a 1995 sidewalk with the factory fitted alarm, just recently it has started not deactivating when I press the button, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't, I'm assuming the key fob battery is flat.
I have read a few threads on here so apologise if this is going over old ground but I can't find my answer, when I purchase the car it didn't come with the original hand book and I've read that you need that to know a sequence to re-program the fob.
The car is completely standard and nothing has been changed.
Can anyone help, does any one have a spare or second hand rover hand book for sale?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Replace battery in key fob with new CR2032 of decent quality like Duracell.
Press lock button (left hand one from memory) 4 or 5 times one after another to sync with alarm box.
SPiguy tells me the left one is unlock (see below)
If it is duff there are places on eBay and similar which refurbish them (the solder cracks around the switches normally with age).

FS, I don't like to question your knowledge on these matters but... I think it is the unlock (which is the left hand one with the keyring hoop nearest you, it is also smooth whereas the lock on has bumps on it). I just fired up my 95 SPi cooper recently and I replaced both fobs batteries, and I pressed the unlock 4 times to sync the fobs. I heard the click of it unlocking on the 4th press.

The memory isn't what it was....

I know the AS alarms aren't great but could this thread be removed once the OP has the correct info?

This is only instructions on how to re-sync fobs, which are already paired with the system, after replacing batteries. It doesn't allow you to just get any old fob and sync it to the AS, you need software and hardware to do that, so there isn't a security issue here.

Not for the 3AS you don't although the programming is different to what has been said.

Mods if you want to delete this thread as people are worried about security then that's fine by me....last thing I want is peoples cars going missing.
Thanks again everyone.
