I've got some window seals from minisport (Rear fixed sides, front and back window) and they all seem to be quite a bit too big, is this a genuine manufacture problem? Or do they simply need to be cut to size? Only asking because I don't want to be cutting pieces off and then realising they aren't the correct ones.

Any ideas about this? Has anyone had this problem before?

Cheers!

Too big = too long? Thst's normal for many seals, allows you to be sure they fit properly & cut to size. Same with Series Landrover. I assume it's because the old British manufacture wasn't so good at dimensional control, and the modern Chinese parts supplier as well.

Happened to me the other week when I fitted seals for the rear quarter opening. Had to cut the one I fitted to the right side down by about an inch to fit, the left side I managed to hammer down without cutting. I just cut it where they joined it, I never bothered to re-glue mine but if you were fussy you could do that. I also had a hell of a bother actually getting the windows in because they were a different shape to the ones that were fitted, I don't know how the sealed types fit into the window tho.

have you actually tried fitting the glass? you'll be amazed how much of what seems way too much rubber, suddenly disappears when everything settles in place. windscreen rubbers always look about a foot too long, then fit perfectly with the glass in.

Thanks a lot everyone, just been in touch with them and they said the exact same!

Going to give them all a go today, just wanted to be sure.

Thanks again!
