Was a horrible thing to witness. I thought raah that's rather daringly low, then it disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

Sirens are still going off up the road.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved.

I think links to footage of incidents where people are killed are in very poor taste myself.

I've been saying this all afternoon on Facebook and been slated for it. I'm glad some do agree.

I didn't click on the above link just just assumed it was a news report.

We were there today...sort of

We spent 2 hours queuing along the A27 trying to get in but gave up (a hot car and two children in stationary traffic doesn't mix) so gave up and left the traffic jam at 12pm heading north.

We returned home and went to beach to see the Vulcan fly over from Shoreham to Bournemouth airshow. At this point we had no idea that the accident had happened but did find it strange that the Vulcan was over Shoreham for only 5 mins or so. But now we know why

To think that it could of been me and family in that situation makes me very upset.
Judging from the footage the pilot seemed to do everything he could to hold into it and get it over the A27 but appeared not to have power to do so.

Also the A27 didn't seem to grid locked at the time. About an hour earlier there would have x3 more cars there as it was mayhem. Complete grid lock. So could of been a lot worse.

Thought go to everyone involved.

Glad you and family are safe James and as said thoughts go out to all those involved.

The video is now on the BBC news website with the point of impact edited out.

On of our certifiers was there at the time and it happened literally in front of her. The fireball missed them by the skin of their teeth and set fire to the bush next to them. not good especially when you are 5 months pregnant.

I will ask for all forums members to not make any assumptions of what happened here. The root cause will come to light in good time so please in respect of the people who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy bare this in mind.

Thankyou.

There is a photo circling around on various social
Media platforms of the plane on the deck on fire with a number of cars in the foreground. Hope this wasn't one of you colleagues sonikk... Looks truely terrifying

Personally I feel the media, both national and social, have gone about this entirely the wrong way. Putting up pics of the tragic losses of lives during a peaceful festival doesn't sit right with me at all.

Sad accident and people need to remember that, it's an accident. Already people calling for airshows to be reigned in. I'm 26 and i still look up at them like a child, they may need some fierce defending in the future.

They had a nice plane at MITP. :shades: Spitfire with the RR merlin engine is the only plane for me though   :shy:
