The rev2 system he uses indeed puts out a 12V signal.

I'm not sure if the nodiz has a direct output for the rev counter I'm sure only the older ones have it?

You two need to talk to determine which Nodiz version Coopdog has.

EDIT:  See the link below for the Nodiz Rev2 manual.  Refer to page 5 for the pin out of the connector (pin #2).  See page 10 for a brief mention of what the tach output is.
Nodize Rev2 Manual

Based on the manual date, Nodiz Rev2 has been available since the summer of 2013.

I would just like to clarify in the interests of the comparions made to MegaJolt that there are in fact two opportunities for a tacho driver in the MJ system - one from the ECU and one from the EDIS (Old unit as it was referred to).

One is 5v and runs the majority of older tachos fine, the other 12v to run the later mpi style clocks.

I know this because I have used all the different tachos in my mini with the same MJ unit - in fact when I build the custom looms for customers and trigger wheels I now include both feeds to ensure the customer doesn't stumble on this issue.

I also agree partly in that sometimes the tacho simply is tired. I have had a mk1 escort tacho "modernised" by a company and it still cant keep up with how quickly a ford se engine revs - so not everything is infallible.

CoopDog - if you'd like the tacho tested please ping it to me, and if need be i'll source and swap out the innards for a later ford rev counter with the same swing and test it also.

Kind regards

David
