I know this is asked a lot but there is never a decent answer.

I have a 1275 which is slowly getting modded and I plan a full hot engine rebuild soon on another engine so I can use the same coil in the future.

I have accuspark electronic ignition fitted and a standard 12v coil

I know lucas is now dead to us mini owners, what coil will give the best spark so I can open the plug gaps?

Thanks, Ryan

Strangle enough there is a decent answer to your question I did on the exact topic and question  here on TMF in the FAQs Electrical Section http://www.theminifo...coils-all-read/

MSC 105 from mini spares its a gold sports coil just like the Lucas was, its made by a well respected manufacturer Intermotor in their factory and not the far east. Intermotor have been making electrical components since the 60/70s. Removed the Lucas from mine and now run the MSC 105

I've not tried one, but I was told the Pertronix range of coils is superb. Not the cheapest, but the best never is.
