when i was there it was very hot and dry which would have increased the wear rate no end

It was hot and dry everyday except the day of the parade lap (typically), It was extremely hot the two days of the drive back. I do know what you mean though, I have gone through a set of 32s very fast in the past. I think the compound has been changed. I wish they did the supersoft version in 10" size though.

How much fuel did you use altogether this year Stig?

I think me an the stig worked it out that we were both using around 8 miles to the gallon.

Yes Keef it is not standard, it is ready for the S/C almost now. Pity it will be off the road till after Xmas as the doctors have put me in plaster until then.
Means i cant even work on my car.

Unfortunately due to Turbomins steering column issues we didnt get him on the track but I did get some laps with Andrewinlondon, the stig & puddings which were greeeeaaat! The stig was the most enthusiastic, even sideways at times & that neon certainly goes, but my lap with puddings was by far the best, Ive done track days as a passenger in a 911 GT3 before but you cannot beat a well sorted mini on a track like the ring with hundreds of corners & a driver who knows how to handle it, the sound of the engine was gorgeous, thanks for that puddings. How long is it til next years trip.......

Usually down to poor suspension geometry (maybe why you went through your tyres so quickly), poor grip (well we know this isn't true with those tyres- to begin with at least), or bad driving skills (not saying this is it!).
