I have the ZA version of that AA plate on the rear. Looking good!
Thanks! and nice, mine is one I made from plastic haha
Loving this, looks a lot better without the positive camber. Have you had any problems from the police with the tread showing past the arches?
Cheers man, and nope, never. Not on the first mini, the micra or this one! Never been pulled over either, despite the wacky mods and no front plate, etc. Maybe I'm just lucky
Nicely done with the brackets. Such a cool way to solve the camber issue. Definitely looks even better now that the back is sitting as low as the front :)
Thanks Vin I'd much rather try and mod/make stuff myself than buy things haha
Surely as soon as you start driving the tyres just rub on the top of the wheel arch?
Nope, not at all! Only when driving rounds corners, going over bumps, fast or slow, with too much petrol in it or with any weight in the back
I love the look of this
but as above, must rub like a *******.
Cheers Jamie!

So, I finished off the rear radius arm brackets, came out really good! painted them in orange and used glitter lacquer because I’m a tart . Also discovered my front cones were mashed do replaced them as a hangover cure.

Small update on this, with problems !
Well I did the cones the other day, only drove it round the block and left it in the garage while I went to a festival. Came back to find the cones had settled a bit more (to be expected), so I adjusted them. The problem I've got is that one of the front cones is alot lower than the other, and the hilo is wound out loads more than the other side. These cones were brand new, but unbranded and purchased off a member on here. Could it have collapsed already?! Can anyone shine some light on it?
Also with the car running so low the shocks are a bit tall! Look at the picture below, that cant be right! They are Avo lowered shocks (I've measured them) and have like 1/2" - 3/4" of space to move when the car is sitting normally. The ride isnt the best, but I dont want to be damaging the shocks! I'm thinking about making some taller front shock top mounts?
Finally, I've swapped back to my reverse rims. The steering is wayyyy lighter now with 145's. The reason behind this is that I want to use the Mercury's for MITP, but one Falken has like 2mm of tread so dont really want to use it, because I'm never ever buying falken tyres again, they are utterly gash! And my new wheels are still stuck over the pond

Cheers Chris! At first I wasn't keen but they have grown on me. I would stencil them too, but I've only got budget marshal tyresOk I'm going to say it, I LOVE the steelies!! Put tyre writing on them and leave them on!!

Like the way you have cut the subframe away losing the bump stop, did you have any probs with m.o.t like this, also makes the Hilo easier to adjust and cones easier to install.

looks good with the steels on. Maybe you and chris should swap one of your cones so it balances out have you put the rubber back on the knuckle joint after the above picture?

I'd have to agree with the above drivers cone looks like it's collapsed

You`re not wrong there.
Even Camac`s have more grip and they are shaped like fifty pence pieces

Thanks Alex , sounds like a plan haha, and well spotted, I havent
That drivers side cone looks like it's collapsed to me, also with the front bump stops missing and running that low it's going to be the shocks and mounts effectivily acting as bump stops when the suspension compresses and you bottom the shock out. Not good for either the shock or the top mount -
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be negative - I really like the look of your car, it's great to see something fresh and different on the mini scene, but I'd hate to see a pic of it parked up with the front shock mounts ripped off
No negativity detected, thats exactly the advice I'm after! I realised that the shock/mounting must be taking a pounding so the front shock mounts are definitely the next thing to sort, dreading rust underneath though . Damn, thats sucks on that cone, especially as it was new and just fitted ffs.

Personally I think falkens just have the edge over carmacs as when I had carmacs on old steels it was like driving on snow
