Great work mate, You've done a good job bending the valance to cover the subframe. Are you leaving the black wing and front panel?

Thank you mate! Get an update of yours upLooks sick mate, when you said you wanted a metal front on it I thought it was a shame too loose the white front but I gotta say now it looks much better.

Cheers budI do like this car!

I’ll be honest, from me trying them with the dust on the windscreen they don’t seem to be the best, but then again normal mini wipers aren’t that goodSweet! thought that might have been the case. Yeah I can't justify that price tag either but I love the look of them
do they still swipe alright and clear the screen efficiently without much farting about once made them?

Thanks man! Yeh it really hides the swap, which is what I was after, black panels will be staying as they are for time being, might see if I can get them paint matched later onGreat work mate, You've done a good job bending the valance to cover the subframe. Thank mate! I see you've gone to mis-matching wheels too, its a good look
Bit of a spam update to be honest, done about 30 miles in it today, nothing major just running about seeing how it performs. New box is lovely, 1st/2nd are way more usable with less wheel spin and the lsd works well, exhaust is hellish very loud and raw, and backfires like a gunshot, just how I like it, not so much my parents however... The brakes bled really easily in the end, and once they've got some heat in them they are awesome. I've got to say Im really really happy with how it looks now, just like a 'normal' mini but goes like a Porsche :-P It does need a wheel bearing on the drivers front wheel though and could use a service

Thought I would address a problem I've had for a while, which is my tie rod to frame clearances. I already use ball joint spacers but still only had 1/2" if that of clearance. To sort this I seam welded a new piece of box section above it, then cut a section out of the lower piece and boxed that in. Some of the welds are award winning but gettting the torch in there was a pita but I'm sure it should be strong enough! I had though of doing this whilst the engine was out, but I didnt write it down so it didnt get done

Soooo, Brooklands Mini Day 2018! Rather good day out all in all, forgot how uncomfortable fun the mini is to drive, sick drive there and back down lots of B roads, caught up with mates, had a few problems though. Firstly my battery tie down strap nuts vibrated loose which left it and the battery banging about in the boot, I think this played a part in the battery negative terminal not having a good enough contact and it meant the car was dead. Once I worked that out, I thought I'd give the test hill a go in the afternoon Started up, drove down, got in the queue, turned it off, then wouldnt turn back on
Got pushed out the queue, fiddled around with it, found a 30A fuse had blown, ran round to the trade stands, got one! Started up, got let back in the queue by a very kind gent, lined up and didnt slow down enough for the top
Might have jumped it, and my freshly welded tie bar mounts took pretty much all of the impact, but cant see any cracks or damage so my welding cant be that bad!

Thats a fair old jump
Only just noticed you ditched the oil cooler.
nasty scrape noise what did it do?
On the 2nd video you can see the 2 big scrapes in the concrete where the tie bar mounts hit the ground. Also the concrete/ lack of paint between the 2nd a and 3rd photo
