Cheers bud! I wasnta fan when I first put them on, but I have come round to them and they are staying for the time being, until MITP anyway  ;D

Seems to spend more time like this, than on the road though  >_<

I decided I needed to sort my front shock arrangements soon rather than later, so set about remaking the front shock mounts. Started with a few materials, 70mm x 70mm x 5mm box section, 3/8 UNF All thread and nuts and solid bar.

Bit of drilling to make it like swiss cheese,

Then some chopping,

Bit of lathe action for some supports,

Then bolt it all together, weld it up and some paint and its done

And in place, on the car,

It drives completely different now, i’ve actually got suspension  Also put the roof rack back on and some suitcases. Got a custom exhaust in the making too!

I've been following this thread from the start and I absolutely love what you've done with this car! It's just completely different to anything else out there. You just can't beat the look of a MK3 slammed on 10s! Also, do you have many problems running that low?

Thanks man :D Only problems have been my front shocks (sorted by making new mounts) and my exhaust, which scrapes on speedbumps and throw's sparks when it hits the ground on fast/bumpy roads! If I was sticking with the A-series motor, I'd look into internal gear linkages.

Thanks mate :D

MITP was a success, did about 150 miles round trip, didn't miss a beat and even went up the strip twice. Did a 18.6 1/4 mile, pretty slow, but it is only a standard 1275  also gives me a benchmark for the k series...

Small update.

It turns out my new wheels that I ordered wont be here until end of september, kinda sucks as that when it will be coming off the road, so they wont see the car on a series power. I bought a pair of A032r's in prep for them, but as they wont be coming I fitted them onto the old rear wheels, as that pair of Falkens was looking pretty bare! I worked out they were about 15 years old, and one had deteriorated and the bead was showing!

And those new cones I fitted about a couple months back? Both collapsed completely, worse than the ones I replaced. This is why its dumped itself on the front. The rear height also seems to have a mind of its own atm. Bought some genuine ones this time, need to get them in before Combe.

Also bought a new seat, really like big ol bucket seats atm and wanted a zilla life one, but they were taking forever to get in stock and I went off the idea of paying a fair amount more just for a glitter back! Just going to repaint the back of this one  Fitted a tow strap to the rear which I'd had sitting around for ages and bolted in a four point harness I picked up at MITP. In case you hadnt noticed I'm going for a bit of a race car look, but atm its all show and no go  :teehee: Gave it its first clean since L2B too  :o

Love that tread pattern.
