Seeing as subframes are replaceable due the fact they rot and in theory can only be repaired in certain areas then how does that work.
The same as a Lotus chassis. Both designed in the event of an accident / rust etc these items can be replaced. It's not like the car is a full monocoque. Yes you would need a like for like replacement that I understand but it's a replaceable part. What would they rather have on the road, a proper standard non repaired subbie fit for purpose or a potentially dodgy repaired subframe?? The same goes for these other cars with a separate chassis.
Without taking them off and having them inspected by a person who is fully conversive with these cars you could get a totally inexperienced person making a decision which ultimately could cost you tens if not hundreds of thousands of pounds.
I am all up for clamping down on the V5 fraud going in with our cars in particular. It's not rocket science that eventually something like this was going to happen. However it needs to be done fairly, not going in with a Iron Fist.
