Hi, I have almost finished the restoration of my mini, and it has just come back from the paint shop. I had the roof painted white especially so I could fit a union flag .... With the way things are these days, I'm just wondering weather people think it would be unwise to fit one ?? Such a shame if I can't, been looking forward to that bit from the start :-/
Please give me your thoughts and I will go from there ..... Cheers Chas ....

Why would it be unwise?  Its the flag of this country and has been (and still is) a feature on many cars on the road - if you want to have it then go ahead.  The only way that I would say not to is if you genuinely believe it may be targeted/vandalised in your community?

Mate, stuff em, I served 27 yrs in the Army - we were always a target of one terrorist group or another.  Life is too short to worry about how others feel about perfectly legal signs of patriotism! ;D

I've not heard of any cars being targeted because of the union jack, but there are some idiots out there for sure

I'd wager that you would invite more trouble by putting football club stickers in the window to be honest.

It's been done to death on mini roofs that many times even ISIS are bored of it anyway, lol. :-)

I've got one and never, ever had any problems. Generally, people are proud of the flag. It's only a small minority of haters out there - don't believe ALL the media tells you. Drive through central London and you'll be surrounded by tourists taking photos. My concern was when I took the car to France, but everywhere I went, people loved it. It's a Mini. And It's British. Go for it :D

As others have said:  if you want it - just do it. It's your car after all and stuff anyone who doesn't like it.

I have the union jack roof and badges on my car and never had a problem with anyone. I think it makes the mini what it is. Go for it I say.
