After a couple of weeks of back and forth, I've finally purchased this 79 Pickup that my wife has named bumble. Drove it home on Saturday and turned many heads:

The drive home was great fun (even in the rain) but did give me a good idea of the initial 'jobs' that need doing pretty sharpish.

First off the wiper box is in need of some TLC, as it was literally steaming when I popped the bonnet when I arrived home.

There was also a stuck starter to contend with, but some time in the garage on Sunday seems to have fixed this temporarily.

Will post some more photos later, after golf, along with my first set of upcoming fixes. Hope you like (appreciate it'll split opinions).

It also has an original Ifor Williams canopy:

Not my cuppa, but still looks good.

What's up with the load bed?

Edit: what did you end up paying if you don't mind me asking? As I remember it was pretty overpriced?

Do you mean the weird bit by my golf bag? I think it's a trick of the light. Hopefully (speeds home to triple check lol).

It's obviously been repaired there at some point. It's 36 years old, it's bound to have the odd battle scar.

Thanks. Yes, I'm planning to do some shows. Need to do some tidying and tarting up (plus more to follow lol).

it really does grow on you. Hated it when I first saw the advert, but now love it.

Drove it through a couple of quaint towns on the way home and people loved it. Stopped, stared and smiled. Got a few thumbs up too.

Not at all. Perfectly sound advice.
