What's that puller Chris?  One-handed easy action!

 

 

That one's a Coxhead (Brand). They can exert up to 12 Tonne. Aust Made. Basically it's similar to the Litchfield brand (also Aust) and the Churchill ones. I think Coxhead supplied some (all?) of the BMC Special Tools here in Aust.

 

None the less, as you can see, it doesn't argue, it just gets the job done!    Never had one that it couldn't get off - yet!

I believe this puller is good.. "Gerrof ya b'stard" Flywheel Puller, anybody know any thing different about it, as I need to buy one soon.

Had this same problem a few months ago. As already recommended, I greased the bolts and made sure everything was square left it overnight etc, etc. No joy.

 

I then borrowed an air impact wrench, plugged it into my compressor and with a couple of 'bursts', it popped straight off. Much more civilised than heating/quenching/griniding!

I recon they would be these days. I was very lucky to get that one and it was at a price I couldn't refuse :D

I hate to rub it in but I've just removed two verto clutches (998 and a 1275) with a crappy 3-leg puller, neither put up much of a fight.

 

(Don't follow my lead though - I wouldn't use a legged puller if I wasn't replacing the whole assemble)
