Couple of questions:

 

When fitting a Rear Valance and Closing Panels (With Subframe Reinforcement Brackets Fitted) what's the best way to weld them in place, bolt up the Closing Plates to the Subframe, clamp on the Rear Valance and then weld the whole lot in?

 

Or

 

Bolt in the Closing Panels and clamp on the Rear Valance and tack weld the Closing Panels to the Rear Valance, remove the lot, finish welding the Closing Panels to the Rear Valance (To avoid doing it under the Mini. And then refit the Rear Valance and Closing Panels and then finish welding the lot together?

 

Also, where and how many holes should I drill into the Rear Valance Closing Panels to Spot Weld to the Floor of the Mini?

I would bolt the panel to the subframe mount, then slave the valance to that. Once all lined up pin it all in place.

 

Now remove the lot and drill in the plug weld holes. For the closeout to the boot floor i would space the welds approx one inch apart and squeeze in as many as possible. Now you can either do the holes in the closeout or in the boot floor. The boot floor is easier to grind flush the welds rather than welding them in the closeout.

I clamped the closing panels and valance up, welded on the closures then re-clamped the valance and welded that. Pics here
