Charlie Brown has asked me to introduce myself, which I wasn't planning to do as it seems a bit like one of those health and safety courses I got sent on from work where we all had to introduce ourselves in a circle. I was kind of hoping to quietly slip in the back door and sit at my desk unnoticed.
I've been working with minis about 8 years now. That doesn't seem like long but I have built several engines, stripped several cars, built a very modern Mini from a new shell and the remains of a Mayfair, and lots of general messing about.
When I say working, I don't mean I do this proffessionally, it's all for the love!
I have no formal mechanical training but my Dad was an aircraft engineer, and certainly knows his way around a torque wrench. So I learned a lot from him.
I am best with electrics really, and that I am trained for. I used to install mainframes for BA. Last car I rewired has a pretty good electrical system, if I say so myself. Somerford minis were impressed when they valued it anyway.
I don't drive a Mini at the moment, and I really miss my Checkmate. We just have the car I built for my girlfriend. That is the one which started as a tired German import Mayfair. Oh, and we used to look after a Thirty for a friend which was great too.
That's about it I suppose.

Clutch oil seal needs doing now though, which is a pain. But it has been on the road four years (really reliable these A series parts).
Why does Norton Firewall light up like a christmas tree every time I come to this site?

I suspect that 66-74 is a better estimate, but the printout was impressive anyway!
