Should definately include a 1/4 mile run, wouldn't be the same without one, preferably Midlands or South.

Don't mean to put the dampers on things but anything that involves a great number of vehicles turning up at the same time to the same place will involve A LOT of planning!!

Having been on the Thong Run organising 'committee' for coming up to 3 years, you would be surprised what needs to be sorted out a long time in advance.

We start planning and arranging things for the following year just after the event itself.

If you book a 'venue' in advance, someone will have to pay for it up front. You need to think about insurance etc etc.

Good idea though.

and dont we know about planing... you try taking people to germany and back etc that takes us a year too..

but yeah i have seen your point and a person called coxy on the VW site come up with the simple way out of that ...

just have a cruise this year mini and VWs and see how that goes and then maybe move onto something abit bigger.

i do feel you guys and girls are getting into this way too much. just remember whos going to pay for everything? the bigger it is the more your going to have to pay.

keep it small and simple and allow it to grow and how knows where this mad idea could lead.

world domanation for the VWs and Mini.

i also feel we do have a close conection with vw's being classics as well and this has been over viewd in the past.

VW engine = 3 bolts? Can't compare the 2!

By doing this sort of thing you are also opening yourselves up to possibly insurance claims for damage !!

Really am not trying to sound negative, just practical !

I deffo like the idea. I have liked Beetles for as long as I have been into Minis (I've never owned a Beetle unfortunately). I am also thinking of buying a camper, so it would be the ideal show for me to go to.

Midlands is a great idea too. If it does happen and you need a hand with any organising/planning etc. I could help. :dozing:

As long as it becomes a 'mutual respect' event, not in anyway a comparison or minis vs dubs show.

Wooooahhhh, I have just seen a username of 66split browsing this thread!

If that refers to a 66 split screen bus, gimme! :geek:

I'm pretty sure that Santa Pod will be a big NO. Many years ago there was a mini show there until a drunken mini owner caused a fatel accident >:geek: And santa pod said no more mini shows after that!
