Sorry about the oil pressure line leak. Yes, the garage should have caught it. However, with all the nuts and bolts that need tightening I can see how the nut on the oil line might be overlooked. Regardless, I'm glad you sorted this out. My fear was that it would prove to be blow-by which can only be fixed with an engine rebuild.
As for the tachometer, that is a mistake that any modern garage can and will make. The tachometers that are not compatible with electronic ignition are the Smiths RVI type. They have not been made since the early to mid 1970s. I would find it more surprising if the shop did know about the compatibility issue.
