That clip nut is pants, you really need the floating type.

k nut included. And more reach.

But this has got me thinking I might just use threaded fixing at the top and have it slot in at the bottom. Will be simpler and as the waist rail is kinda solid opinions are limited there.

Well plenty to think about.

Yep they are similar to the ones we use on Aircraft floorboards.

Arrggh just remembered why I bonded the panels on last time, 20 years ago, was to help stiffen them up as they are a bit flexy.

And they are not a stiff as the carbon ones we had on the Metro so a diagonal bar won't do much.

But oh I like that idea,

You will have to wait and see. But it removes most of the issues.

Could you not use a floating anchor nut instead. Two 3/32nd tucker pop rivets to hold it in place??
