Good luck with the MOT.
Hope you get to the cause of the door lever issue before.

Thanks - I drove it off to my local mechanic to have the tracking and timing set then an MOT. It was great to have it on the road.
Still haven't solved the door issue, the latch levers work fine when not attached to the doors - it's almost as though the rods have shrunk!
I didn't have time to finish the arches so they went off unpainted and attached with body caulking!
looking forward to getting it back for final finishing. Still hoping someone can identify the clips I posted a picture of a short while ago?

I'll make a guess on the clip..!
The arm sticking out of the top looks like it should hold a cable.
So I'm thinking a clip to hold the accelerator, choke or heater cable.

The lock issue was a bit embarrassing - I'd put the arms on the wrong sides - I also had the brake bias valve the wrong way 'round so the rear brakes locked up but not much at the front.
The brakes were also sticking on which turned out to be the seal washer in the servo binding - all now sorted and MOT issued.
Just need to fix the arches on - I painted them gloss black after some uncertainty but it doesn't look right so I'll re-do them satin.

Ten of them?
How big are they?
Could you put a coin beside the clip and take another picture so we can see please?

Just back from 2000 miles across France, Switzerland and Italy in the (almost) completed Mini.
We took a fortnight to visit the Italian Job locations in the Alps, Turin and finally arrived at Monaco 50 years after a Mini won the Monte Carlo Rally in '65.
I couldn't get the speedo or the fuel gauge working before we left so we used the satnav for speed and pen and paper for fuel logistics.
The speedo needle spent the first few days banging itself against the stop on the dial then gave up and fell off!
It ran beautifully - we lost clutch fluid from a weeping union then the pedal went going up a steep hill near Monaco, four up.
We used the windscreen washer pipe to suck enough fluid from the brake reservoir to get the clutch working again and had no more problems.
We travelled the smaller roads and managed an average of 46mpg which I don't think is too shabby.
Driving up and down the Alpine roads across the Great St Bernard Pass was amazing the car handled really well even with a full load of spares and luggage.
Here it is outside the Casino in Monaco

Very very nice! Well done to you and your mini :) Why did you remove the arches (looks really good without them actually).

Excellent, this is something I really want to do once mine is on the road. Ideally for my 30th next June but whether my mini will be ready by then is another question altogether :s Youve done a great job of the car too...well done :)

I can recommend it as an experience not to be missed. I fitted a charging socket in the back for a coolbox and another in the front for tech but other than that and some duct tape headlight masks the car was great straight out of the tin. Because it had been laid up for 7 years it transpired there was quite a lot of muck in the coolant which occasionally led to the temp gauge getting a bit close to too hot but releasing the bonnet so it was only held by the safety catch especially on long steep climbs on hot days did the trick in keeping it manageable.
We saw three other minis over the whole 2k miles and had a lot of waves, hoots and good comments from other motorists cyclists and pedestrians (difficult sometimes to know if drivers are flashing to warn of speedtraps or are mini fans!)As an avid Italian job fan I really enjoyed seeing the weir and the church with the wedding on it's steps which are next to each other on the river Po in Turin.
We also videoed from inside the car driving through the Alps to the accompaniment of Matt Monroe on the UE Boom (which makes a great removeable car stereo
