The engine bay is now painted and the body blocked ready for paint - should all be done 'by the end of next week'

Can't wait!

Thanks Jagman: yes, this is the best part when it gets to this stage - all the dirty oily work done - just boxes of lovely re-furbed or new bits to bolt on.

We watched the Italian Job last night to get some ideas for where to go on our road trip to Italy and Monaco (Mini Monte win 50 years ago!)  in it in September.

Yes, I do like those days of bolting on the shiny stuff.

A great shiny painted shell becomes a great shiny car.

An Italian Job tour is on my wish list sometime as well. Good luck in September.

The shell is painted!!!
I've fitted the steering rack and front shox mounts today - tomorrow the front subframe will go on so it's ready to return home.
I'm very pleased with the colour - it looks really RED - I suppose most cars you see have been painted a while and the colour has dimmed a bit.
can't wait to get it in the garage to start work re-building.

Looking very smart, now for the shiny bits!

Have fun & I'm looking forward to seeing it become a fun retro car.

Well done - thanks for sorting that! i'll have to take you on as tech consultants!
I bolted in the front subframe and steering column today so it's ready for collection later.
