very nice! have you done anything new to it in the last six years?
I don't know what's up with photobucket - the pictures showed when I posted them, then disappeared! Arrrrgh!

Many thanks - as a mini newcomer I really enjoyed doing it and even more the trip to Europe that set the timetable.
I plan to evolve it over time with more power (stage 1 to begin, maybe 1275 later) and do some more roadtrips maybe starting with classic le Mans.

A new suspension doughnut arrived today to replace the sagging rear one - I'll be fitting the HiLo's at the same time.
Also delivered were these designation tags for the auxiliary switches - my wife was panicking that she wouldn't know which switch did what if she drove it alone. I'm really pleased with them - one more to come for the windscreen washers.
I've undercoated the metal part of the doughnut ready for a coat of paint and fitting.

Those labels are a very neat idea.

Many thanks Tom, we went in September so missed the worst of the hot weather - you'd certainly need aircon in June/July.
We enjoyed most just poking around the backroads - some of them not much more than farmtracks!

great job.
ive read your thread and would like to convert mine to mk1 rear lights. was wondering if you used the "fillet" panels that are available or another method to get the finish you've achieved?

Looks great, are your door mirrors downton styles ones? can you see much out of them fitted to the door that low?

I only fitted one Downton style one - more for the look than anything, I mostly use the interior mirror and head turning!

sorry a bit late answering - they were from a Landrover Series 1 parts vendor on Ebay.
I have been trying to get old style numberplates made up for the car (the raised plastic letter type)without success. Most showplates are the stamped alloy type.
Then I found some black plastic letters on Ebay and have painted them white. Alloy trailer plates are on order which will be painted black after having their yellow reflective film removed.
I've made cardboard templates for the letter mounting holes position.
