It's HS but the same principle, note slowing piston rise makes the mixture richer. The effect of the mod will act on the piston  as you lift off the throttle, allowing it to drop quicker and be lower (hence richer) when you floor the throttle once back in gear.

Reduce the top hat rim to 7mm diameter.

So is that the rod, the ring or the cylinder?  (the rod end looks most top-hat-ish to me :-/ )  Also, is this a further improvement over the 'fast drop' damper or an improvement to the standard?
