Just wondered what others are setting their gas dampeners too.

I have set mine all round 15 clicks from the softest. (i thing there are around 36 clicks in total, is that correct?)

I want the pretty soft, but not too bouncy.

Blimey....I run mine 5 clicks from softest for rallying. Might be why it rolls a bit!!!!!!

Might stiffen it up a bit.

you might be right.

i just google search the forum and folks seem to have them fairly soft. Seems like what I though was soft isn't, i will turn them back a tad.

From what Ive heard (apparently true for most adjustable shocks), when set a 0 clicks, they are the same stiffness as a standard shock. Dont know how true this is but when I used mine as a daily I ran at 0 clicks for the daily hack and 15 - 20 clicks for spirited driving. That was running Minitastic springs, gave a lovely ride.

My Gaz shocks at zero clicks are firmer than standard shocks by quite a way.

Craig - you might get away with slightly harder setting on yer shocks as you've got 10" wheels and tyres so you'll gain some 'bounce' there.

everyday is a school day in the world of minis. I will set them at 0 or just above and see how it feels.

I knew minis were harsh suspension wise, but i guess this has been down to me setting it too hard.

Best thing to do is set at 0 and go for a drive. then if to soft go 5 clicks harder....if still to soft another 5 and so on.  When it starts to feel a bit bouncy and skippy (can't think of better words to describe) start clicking it back to soft click by click.

Fair enough, ignore my above wisdom :D I now have Spax Krypton adjustables, just been and tested them - these are softer at zero clicks than my Gaz ones but have more "clicks". Don't have any standard ones to test against, but these may be closer to standard softness than the Gaz ones. Good advise, base setting of 0 then adjust until optimal :)

How many clicks are there? I used to have mine slightly different from front to back. I believe about 7 and 12 clicks. I've since had my suspension set up and the bloke put them to 20 clicks off hard all round. I seem to remember my ride being quite harsh before so I have a feeling I will be turning them down once I get to drive it but I'm unsure how many clicks up 20 off hard is

What you have to consider is the actual job of the shock.

That is to control the action of the wheel. Stronger springs will require more control. A road surface with small changes in level needs different settings to one with big changes.

Make everything too stiff and the suspension packs down and you are running on the bump stood before you know it.

One thing I wish these domaines would do is give people a clue as to where in their settings standard is.

All I can sugest is pen and paper. Adjustment tool (if needed) and a nice bit of Swedish road ( cough you know what type of road I am talking about) and go and play. Start off with big changes in the adjustment so you can feel what is happening.

sorry to resurrect this, but, just setting up my clubbys gazs, which is normally set higher, front or back? or is the consensus the same all round?

Thanks, James.
