(As I recommended them, I should add I don't actually have a bottle jack in my Mini!)

Bear in mind that if you're changing a puncture at the side of the road the clearance is going to be even less than usual

Hi,
I am looking at a bottle Jack a 2 tonne. Will this fit under my mini?

It's a B&Q 2 tonne bottle Jack

In my opinion, no. I would buy a small, and light, trolley jack. :shades:

Well, all you can do is try it, but in my head I can't see a bottle jacking fitting underneath a mini subframe, with a flat tyre.  :tumble:

Way to tall for any mini that has been near a lowering stick.

As above, a bottle jack will be way too tall, especially if you're using it to change a flat tyre which will make the car even lower than normal.

As I mentioned previously, a scissor jack is more practical for emergency roadside use, not only do they have sufficient clearance to get under the subframes, a small one will also fit quite niceley in your boot when stored on it's side between your spare tyre and the boot hinge panel.

The jack isn't as important as where you put it. The jacking point on the sill is only suitable for the original, supplied, jack. Then, you can only be sure of the underlying structure if you know it's been repaired along with any inevitable sill replacement. Any other jack is best placed under the subframe where the suspension arm attaches.

It seems previous owners of mine didn't know the correct place to jack up a mini. My passenger footwell looks like the surface of the moon!

I would never use the standard point in the sill either. When my wheel fell off I had to, as the subframe was to close to the ground to get the jack under it. Using the standard jacking point just that once cracked my inner sill. And my car seems solid and fairly rust free.

I have a plastic tub in the boot of my car with a trolley jack and a couple of planks of wood. If I get a flat on the front tyres it's too low to get the jack under unless I drive onto the wood first.. Need some new cones!
