Before you start spending loads of time and money on it do you not want to check you can get it registered?
That's a very good point, also got to make sure it hasn't been stolen aswell! Themat will be an avoidable headache....

I would definitely sort the paperwork out first otherwise it will be disappointing to have problems after you have a nice shiney restored bike in front of you.

Ok, sounds like an intelligent thing to do, what forms do i need to fill in if ive only got a vin number?
I think it may be the v62? New keeper paperwork. Just go to your local post office with as many details you can scrape together and they will give you all the forms you need :)

Seems like abit of a risk! With any motorbike there is a very high chance it has been stolen...... As a motorbike rider I would never buy a bike without plates. Especially around here... No plates means it's 100% stolen lol. I don't know what area the op is from.
But honestly get the form filled out asap to make sure it is not stolen! :)

It does seem strange that a legit bike would have it's number plate missing??
I don't know how you would go about getting a log book with just a Vin number. Do you know much about the bike and it's previous owner? Perhaps they might remember the reg number or perhaps have a photograph when it had it's plate fitted.

Just need to sort out what i need, so something to help remove the rust,
remove the worst of the rust with scrunched up tinfoil or metal scourer and plenty of Coke! Yes, i said Coke!!!
then use a rust cure agent to help stop it coming back!
