First time I've used mini since December and notice the clutch pedal action does not seem as smooth as it was. Does it mean slave cylinder is knackered? When clutch is pressed in it works fine, and returns to usual position. It just does not seem to operate as one smooth movement, more like a few small ones.

Maybe just because I've not driven it in a while, and been driving automatic regular car.

Hi had this problem very recently, could be just down to slave cylinder arm being stiff. Spray some wd40 onto the arm/plunger that goes into the slave clyinder and then pump the clutch pedal. Hope this helps.
