Sorry to hear about that dude, some nice shiny bits there though to take your mind off things, can't wait to see it all on the mini.

It's ok mate I'm better off and it was my decision to leave so it's all good. I cannot wait to have the shell finished and start putting stuff back together but at least now I have the time lol

Since I've taken a break from the car and finally got life back to what seems normal lol, I thought oh it's my day off might as well get it painted for the last time.

It's finally painted with no issues, in some places it's got more orange peel than others but there is no runs or sags and I know I can rub out the orange peel even if it will take a while. Feels good not feeling like I'm having to rush the car. Hoping to get the roof repainted this week before I rub down and polish the body. Then it's headlining and interior before getting it back onto its wheels

It's been a while and slow. Been busy with work, life and generally trying to just relax. But some stuff has been going on.

All external is finished, I've left it for a couple of weeks before thinking about rubbing the shell down. I started doing it tonight.

This is how it was out of the gun don't think it's that bad but not for me. Rubbed the rear down with 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 then 3000 trizact. Then did a quick run over by hand with a foam applicator of 105 just to see.

Still have a few issues with some slightly deep scratches but will be sorted. Just need to rub the rest of the car down.

All for now

Looking good James.

this stage is very rewarding. I quite enjoy flatting and polishing but it takes a lot of patience.

I can't wait to see some outside photos

Keep it up

Ben

I do too. I'm doing it all by hand because I enjoy it. Need to get it on wheels before I can get outside shots 😔

All was going so well then I managed to be stupid and not pay enough attention and rub through the top layer of paint on the passenger wing. Now deiciding wether or not to paint the whole front again or just the wing. 😡

Any suggestions welcome

Bloody hell mate you're not having any luck. Personally I'd do the whole front, would be easier masking off on the a panel seams. But then I've never painted any car haha
