Looking good, painting is the part all the hard work beforehand starts looking better, welding and panel replacement although major jobs just don't give the same feeling as seeing the car in paint.

I know it's exciting. Was getting stressed over the splitting but I just thought start again. It's not 100% perfect in the gutters but then again it wasn't before I stripped the paint out of them in the first place

Yes the gutters are tricky to work with, even finding tools to get inside them is difficult, I have some tricky gutter repairs to do on mine and are leaving them till last as not looking forward to it, I have bought a powerfile with attachment for 8mm wide belt as this fits in but not tried it yet.

I was lucky that the only panel on the car that didn't need any work was the roof. The break through rust was in the zinc primer as the garage roof leaked. Definitely happy about it. I bent the gutter lip out a bit more in order to get better access and to make it easier to fit the strips on

Need a new roof on my garage, might get it done when the cars finished. Plenty of time then

Two coats of black on

E287EBDA-DA58-465A-899A-AC017253F202_zps

Was having some issues with understanding what to do with the black so you will see I got a dry spot in the centre of the roof. Three things were the issue one I was moving the gun too quickly, the second scared of getting runs and wasn't putting enough paint on when overlapping so was getting a dry edge. The third was just bad gun positioning and not being close enough to the panel.

Going to let it dry over night in the warm garage and I will wet sand it tomorrow with some 600 to get bits of trash out and to flatten the dry spots and then get another two coats of paint on before work

I had the same issue on the roof black is hard to get right but just get enough paint on it 4 or 5 coats so yiu can give it a good flatting and polish without risking break thriygh

I got another coat on today. Got some runs on it so letting it dry while at work and will sand them out after work. Was a better coat today in places I think my problem of the dry centre was just over lap and not going far enough up from the gutters to the centre of the car and having to big of a space to try and cover. It's satin black so not much I can do with polish

Good luck with the rest of the painting mate. Steering clear of any black on the GT bar the wheels because it shows dirt off too easily and I'm a lazy git when it comes to cleaning cars O_O

At least it's only the roof. Although grey will show dirt too so I'm screwed. Good job I enjoy cleaning cars

Thanks, I guess it's getting there now. Think I've worked out how to paint the roof now. So going to get it finished tomorrow hopefully

It is good to be at paint stage but also just as hard work. So far I've striped the roof twice but at least this time i know 1 how much paint to mix for each coat and I know that the painting of the bonnet doors and rest of the body will be easier. I think the roof is just awkward because it's so big. It's mainly the middle of it that's the annoying bit.
