Keeping Another Mini Out Of The Scrappy

Nothing done in the mini as been sorting out my 205. After cold nights out side with a crappy lamp and lots of swearing it's all back together and driving which means getting back on the mini. Now as it is payday tomorrow I will be going and pricing up and buying paint this week. Going to get doors, bootlid stripped to bare metal any filler work done then zinc primed. Will also get the bonnet prepped.
All for now

Best of luck, it's rewarding once the paint goes on, just take your time
I did a quick test using the satin black on an old door skin to test my rebuilt compressor and to understand how the gun runs and what adjusts what. Got it running at around 2 bar. Just have to work out a way of fitting the air filter back onto the compressor which snapped off. Also have two inline filters to trap as much water as possible. Really looking forward to it and I enjoy painting

Need to re paint these as the coating is terrible and scratched in places. So drilled the the rivets out and put some m5 stainless bolts through
New petrol cap turned up today. This will mean I will be able to put the tank in the middle of the boot but still be able to fill it up from the regular side. Plus it fits the look of the car. Going to paint it satin black along with any other bits of chrome trim
All for now

Got the fuel cap fitted. Started by filing the hole out from 73mm to just over 76mm. Then hammered the hole so it sat flat on the body. It has a cork gasket on it so it filled in the little bit of a gap and its tight against the body. Took my time with it so it doesn't need any filler around it to smooth it out.
Shot of it from the inside of the car. Once the fuel tank is in I will work out a way of supporting the pipe so it doesn't just flap around in the boot.
After this I started to tidy up the garage of any dust, bits of metal, rubish and anything that will get in my way when painting. Next step is to empty the boot out of tools Hoover the dust out, seam seal everything then spray the boot floor in stone chip then do my first bit of spraying and get the boot in satin black.

Great job, what size tank are you putting in, in the center you said?
Going with a 6.5 gallon tank. I know it's a gallon less than the standard one but by the time it's filled up and got fuel in the pipe leading to the tank it probably won't be far off. I will be running a 1030 so won't drink tonnes of fuel anyway

Go the garage all covered in dust sheets and got all breakthrough surface rust removed and then covered in zinc primer again.
Got inside the boot and inside the engine bay in satin black. Need to do another coat in the boot but at least it looks better.
Got the roof in high build. I had a couple of issues with some of the paint splitting on some of the seam sealer because I was a little impatient and didn't let it set properly. So after it dried I had to take the the gutter and round the roof back to bare metal and start again. So another 4 coats of high build so it's level with what I had left and it's now ready to sand down tomorrow after work and as long as I don't run out of time might even get chance to get a couple of coats of black on.
