Painted gear knob red and the gauge needles red. Also painted the white plastic black and is now not visible through the lenses.
Picked up these second hand off eBay. They are in good enough Nick a couple of tears in a few places but I've sewn them back up and you can't tell.
One is a carbon/Kevlar one and that will be the drivers one didn't realise how light they are.
The other is a fibreglass one a little heavier but not much and that will be the passenger side one. The Kevlar one is more comfortable but both are quite comfy. Unfutunaly the FIA homlogation has expired but that doesn't matter it's not a race or rally car so it will be fine.
Tomorrow I'm going to make my seat mounting brackets and weld them into the car that will mean I can then get on with prepping the floor ready for stone chip.

Anyhow I took the sheet of 3mm steel and proceeded to draw out my jigsaw. It took ages to cut all the pieces out with a 1mm thick cutting disc but ah well got nice straight lines
Drivers ones made up. It took ages to get them right with having to keep moving the seat in and out of the car it's a good job it's light.
Welded into the car. I then started to make up the passenger one which was even more annoying but ah well it's done now.
Passenger side welded in. They are made from 3mm steel sheet and 3mm X 25mm box section so not going to bend anytime soon and niether will the floor sag from the seats.
Passenger seat is sat behind the drivers seat as the wings are quite wide but it doesn't matter and at least the passenger won't block my view

Didn't think the dashboard would turn out well but that black wrinkle paint makes all the difference! Looks great

Then set about painting the floor with stonechip.
Makes a huge diference to the car. Some of the paint will need to be removed to weld in cage spreader plates but that will be when I get paid next month

All being good hopefully latest August. Hoping to be done by June. It's all money dependant. Everything now is expensive

Since I ran out of wire I thought it was time to paint my mirrors since I wanted to do it ages ago and it's one less thing to paint when I come to put everything back together.
Think that look really nice and is going to be a different touch than being a solid colour. The grill is also going to have a single red stripe running through it to match

Got my group 2 arches on the car today so that's one less job to do. Better to do it now than after paint.
Used some m5 stainless bolts that go into a rubber rivnut easier than having to worry about a self tapper rusting or even regular rivnuts rusting.

Group 2s are the best looking arches for me, not too wide
They are the wider version because my wheels stick out loads past the metal arch 😎

Didn't think they were that wide, I like the look of them in the mags. What wheels are you using?
There's two types group 2 rally and group 2 race these are the race ones about an inch wider. I will be using 10x6 wellers. Had to cut the front of the wing and the front panel bigger so that the wheel will clear it haha
