Nothing more than a hot air gun is needed. Run the air around until the paint starts to bubble, then use your scrapper. Its completely unnecessary to heat that much, its the paint you are after, not the metal! If you are heating to the point of warping panels then your paint has already burnt off and lodged itself in your lungs. Use the wire brush drill / grinder attachment to get the little bits off.

There is a product called paint panther that removes hammerite.
