I would do anything for a mk1!!!! I will get one eventually I hope. I need to get my ass in gear with this car I want it done. Next up is the heel board spreader plates that I will be sorting out tonight :)

Ground it all down and gave it a coat
Then I have sorted out the p/s inner a post closing panel and re attached the dash rail both sides. These will get a skim of filler due to the fact the original pieces that hold them on rotted away!
So next up is the d/s rear quarter window but I can't afford to buy the waist rail just yet

Looks like you will near enough a mk1 by the time it's done mate.... I really want to start mine but time and funds won't allow ATM... Possibly going to finish one of my other minis and sell to fund the mk1...
Top work by the way I am always looking for updates it's coming along nice now mate :)

Been working on the mini today trying to get the welding done apart from the boot floor. So first of all today I measured up and cut out a spreader plate for the heel board and got it welded in. Used 2mm steel for this so it's very strong and hopefully will prevent it from cracking due to solid mounts.
Ground it all down and gave it a coat

Loving your work. I wish I had gone for the complete floor section. Cutting and fitting repair sections took a lot longer I think.
I am still undecided about the toe panel spreader. I too have a new panel in place and going to use solid mounts, I just fell there should be enough strength in a new toe panel. The other option I though was tgo bond a spreader in place using automotive panel bond.
I am about to tackle the A-panel, wings, inner wings and front panel. Any tips
greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the positive comments buddy ! :) the one piece floor was allot Easier and I will be using it in the future ! I have done countless floor sections before and they are just a faff !
The toe board panels originaly would be double skinned from factory (if you check your old one ) the new ones done come with these plates welded on so as I will be driving this car quite hard I choice to be safe and use thick steel.
As far as tips for front end goes I would just make sure you get the panels adjusted as best you can BEFORE welding them on as doing it after is difficult unless you want tons of filler !! As you say use psnel bond between the a panel and unnerving like I have done and this will prevent cracks and rust! Hope this helps!!!! :)
