Been cleaning off underseal from boot floor and arches tonight ! Not a fun job :( I found the heat gun and scraper the best method ! Still got the front wings to sort out yet

Hated doing this stage, my rollover spit had castors and if my neighbours would've been happy with me making one hell've a mess then I think that pushing her outside and going for it with a steam cleaner would've been the fastest way to take all the crap off. It would've been like a war zone though! Good stage to get finished with though.

That sounds like a great idea!!!! XD allot of it is mud and road grime so would come straight off with de greaser! I will be much happier about what I have left to do once all of it is gone!!!

Mine was covered in mostly utterly crap underseal and waxoyl so I'm sure it would've taken it right back to paint and rust, quickly! After that a small shotblast pot and some fine grade abrasive would've finished it off. Mind you I had to replace the floor in mine so was only left with a very rusty boot floor and manky bulkhead. I cleaned up what was left with hydrochloric acid then phosphoric acid, time will tell if I neutralised it enough!

I hated cleaning the underseal off the boot floor. I didn't have space to roll it over or have a spot so it was done lying on the ground with a scraper

Then I set about getting the p/s door bolted on and the a panel welded on!

Used panel bond along the folded over section to give it extra strength and rust protection.

Over the last few nights i have been doing a fair few jobs to the mini!!! Got the front end striped finally had to use the grinder on the bumper bolts :s. De greased the inner wings and chipped off all the underseal then removed the shock mounts to find 2 holes!!!! XD
D96450D6-A403-424C-A35F-738215350212_zps
Also removed the sound deadening pass from the inner quarters
DFDB32C1-1DE5-49E7-AF52-30500BCA72AC_zps
Welded the seat belt mount on. Welded extra around the edges as the original 6 spot welds were a bit worrying!

Then attached the handbrake brackets

Hopefully I can finish the welding by Sunday !!!
