Haha wicked mine has said the same, she wants to learn a few bits on the minis now :)

Not really touched the van in a while! Did give it a coat of wax oil the other day to stop the welds going rusty !

Sorted out some new flap discs today plus I have a week off work! So I thought I would try and get all the welding finished asap. First thing I did was sort out the battery box. I will never be buying a non-gen one again as it is absolutely crap! Used a jack and block of wood to make it fit and I'm still not happy with it.

As you can see I have also ground down all the welds on the back edge !
Next thing to do was make the d/s arch solid again so that mean making a patch!

Traced it onto metal and tacked it on after some fettling

Welded up

Then it was the small piece of rear quarter to sort out.

Ground down and zinc primed up.

So next up is tubbing this arch but need to make the tool to mark it out first ! Tomorrow will be productive I hope! :)

So today's been good :) Started off by making this to mark up the arch for cutting

Marked up !

New edge cut and tacked on then welded up. Used a damp cloth to stop this distorting the quarter!


Then I made the flat section to go in

Ground down and zinc primed

Made a patch for the last hole in arch and ground it all down.

Put it back on its belly and ground the edge down and that sides done!

Cut the top part of quarter out but can't weld it up until I have the inner panel.

Got some welding rods today too sort out my door gaps!!!

So tomorrow I will be cracking on with the other arch, valence, valence closers and p/s a panel :)

I'm trying as best as I can ! I have another week off in November so hopefully that will be a week of filler work ! :)

It was quite straightforward to do in the end once I got the trusty tool calibrated correctly XD I look forward to doing the other side !

Didn't get much done today had to take the Mrs to doctors so started on the mini at around 12.
Got the edge of the boot floor patched up first then marked and cut the arch out.

Then welded the new edge on the quarter

Then welded the new arch piece in

Yeh I was there in the caddy damn thing needed bump starting all day ! XD Should of come said hello!!! Did you buy anything then ?
