Thanks for all of your welcomes...much appreciated. i live in the nottingham area, and have had minis off and on for 15 years...bloody hell! i didn't realize it had been that long. Any way..the car, she is a 1972 1275GT called Katie, just a few mods, mg metro engine, stage 1 kit, quick shift...just the usual stuff. On the outside, she is tahiti blue with a silver roof, 10 inch wheels, which no one will have heard of..not even me. Most importantly she has got a fag lighter in her centre console. work to be done??? New speedo housing this week end, along with water pump, hoses, engine mounts and poly bushes etc etc, just the stuff we do on weekends!!! she will need new step sills for the MOT, and i hope that that is all (those fateful last words) she can't be all bad as we did the riviera run this year, and she never missed a beat, giving a 1380 cooper S a run for her money  it will be nice to see how fast the speedo says. will be doing the showdown, hope to meet some of you there, and hope to be beating a certain clubby called winston, who is quaking in his boots so much he is having a new engine being built special!!!!
Speak to you all soon,
Nick and Katie
