I have a high compression ratio and I'm running castrol valve master plus. The one with octane booster. It seems very good but haven't compared it to any other additive to be honest.

it must be 11.1 bit high realy

head been on for 2 years and 8000 miles

and compression test hasn't changed

225  230 225 225 over the 2 years

I always use 97 98 fuel and oil change

Hi all,

Glad to hear good things about this additive. I've not got hardened unleaded seats in my head so I bought a bottle of this off eBay, not got the engine running yet though.

Just to let you know though I bought the 500ml Multishot bottle, it's more concentrated and treats upto 500 litres, so it's cheaper per tank.

Bob, thanks for posting up what you've found. Reading various reviews for additives, has always drawn very mixed responses but I've not found an A Series specific ones.

We use 97 / 98 in the City, that's fine, but we've found when travelling in rural and remote regions, all we can get is 91, though I recon some of it would be lucky to be 85. We've looked at various additives, but reluctant to just try them and so many seem to be so expensive. After looking and reading in to it, we were going to try Benzine, though when looking at the hazards associated with this chemical, it's not a first choice.

Smackfiend, thanks for the link. I'll look in to that.

the bit better octane and clean fuel properties

it has and we all know how good millers stuff is

So a 250ml bottle treats 40 litres, but the 500ml bottle treats 500 litres?

Edit: missed the concentrated bit.

I've been using the VSPE Power Plus for some time now and always conjunction with Super Unleaded.

The engine definitely runs smoother and is more responsive with it in the tank.

Another plus is that it helps stop the fuel from going off which is a very nice bonus when the car has been laid up over winter!  I also put it in the Jerry can for the lawn mower fuel also and so far it has never gone off!

Ethanol protection too so it's all good in my book!

The multishot bottle is the way to go.  It works out soooo much cheaper than the 250ml bottle.

Started using vsp when it first came out when leaded petrol was removed with on problems.I run a10.5:1 compression
but don't do much mileage. When these products were first introduced a lot of the motoring magazines ran tests on them
and at that time millers can out on top with no visible seat erosion and the castrol was a close second. I can't remember the names of the other products there were about 4 or 5 more but they all had bad results

found another millers product - one shot eco max in a black bottle

it says raises octane by 3 numbers not 2 so have orderd some to try

I reckon my car is about 11 and 11.5 to 1 so needs something I did notice the

2 octane did give more punch tho, don't like having the high comp

will have to get slarky see if he can take bit out the combustion next time

head off. its going fine and been on for 2 years so leaving it for the moment

comp test hasn't changed over a 8000 mile period

Millers make this one which raises it by 4 octane points.  :-)

It doesn't have the ethanol protection or antioxidant in it though.
