wasn't painted in time for MITP, but he has been quite busy at work. The mina thing is it's not rusted through now.the final coats of paint will be done when the door is ready for spraying. should be done for MITP
I still need quite a bit of work done, it is quite badly rusted out around the petrol cap, but it is not affecting the tank at all... thank goodness. I may have a great deal on a re-spray too if I supply the paint. That is still in the works though as we need to repair the rust and bad spots first.
Our deal was that I did cowboy's seats and he will do my car for me, but I really think I should have had that in writing. LOL
He has done a great job so far, but still more to go.
Thanks Cowboy!!!!

Well, She was feeling a bit sluggish... almost like she was tired. It was also dying out when driving if I didnt have the choke pulled out. I was not happy about that and came home and started taking things off (was all put back on though where it belonged)
This weekend Cowboy gave it a service with new points, plugs, dizzy, condensor and spark leads. It really helped give her spark back (no pun intended). And he also started to replace the chipped windscreen, only to have to repair a very bad rusted spot along the sill. That wasn't good but sorted out now. Then we ran into another snag with the replacement windscreen having a chip in it. So he was off to the local scrappy (not even 5 minutes from the house) for a replacement which still needs fitting.
So until we have enough daylight left in the day after he gets home form work, it is sat in the drive with cardboard over the front and a silver cover over the whole thing. But everything is ready to do the job including new chrome fillet and the tools.
Til then, I am stuck having to drive the FORD!! the horrors of that giant beast after my little baby although the power steering is nice, and poor little Mitzy looking sad and forlorn.
We did take pics and they will be posted up later

mitzy has had a bit of work done her over the past few days..
i have had to repair the windscreen suround, and change the windscreen, mitzy has now got some chrome insert front and rear, fitting made extra easy with the right tool from somerford mini's.
after a bit of really heavy rain, sunshine said she had a swimming pool in the passenger side footwell. so after a bit of investigation with the carpet removed, teh dreaded rust monster was visable.
this was beaten down with the aid of a wire brush on the drill. sadly it had allready done hid deadly work and mitzy was left with a few small holes visable. these were attacked using a countersunk,(i find it usefull for getting rid of any thin weak metal around the rust spto leaving just good metal to weld to). 3 large holes were now visable 1 on the inner sill near side, the second was on the footwell and the 3rd was on the wheel arch, these have now been plated and will be treated tomorrow when i can finish cleaning them up, ran out of daylight today.. ( i hate it not having a workshop to work in when i want)
sadly for mitzy this was not all that was found today, while cleaning the inner wheel arch i looked up and saw a damp patch around the fresh air inpipe, putting my hand up to see how bad it was my hand ended up inside the car, by the door stop, removal of the dash was to show another hole, which will need to be repaired again tomorrow. hopefully the weather will be good and i can give mitzy a claen bill of health again..
