Hiya guys, I've always worked on carb'ed minis, now I've got friends SPI to do today and the temp sensor wants replacing, now I know it's under the inlet manifold.

What is the best way to get to it ? Inlet off? Or can I get it to it without removing the inlet ?

Any tricks or tips to doing it ??

Thanks Dan

It can be done without taking the manifold off but is a bit more fiddly. Drain the system or clamp the two pipes to the inlet manifold. Jack car up and after removing the electrical connector, using a deep 19mm or 3/4 socket with a couple of long extension bars unscrew the sensor, replacement is a straightforward reversal and top system back up. Good luck whichever method you use.

Ahh perfect guys I will try and do it without removing the inlet. If that fails I shall remove the inlet and do it that way

Many thanks
